Marine survey work starts for Greenlink interconnector
The subsea field work for the Greenlink interconnector, one of Europe’s most important infrastructure projects, gets under way today with the launch of the first of MMT’s survey vessels, MV Franklin. The offshore and nearshore surveying along the proposed route of the electricity link between the UK and Ireland is expected to take approximately 40 days, depending on weather conditions. MMT were awarded the contract for the Greenlink Marine Survey (GMS) by Greenlink Interconnector Ltd in August.

Further survey work along the 170km marine
MMT has extended its contract with Simon Møkster Shipping AS for the DP2 multipurpose support vessel Stril Explorer.MMT has operated Stril Explorer since April 2014, equipped with the latest subsea survey technology and is very suitable for launch and recovery operations with Surveyor Interceptor ROV (SROV), Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV’s), Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV’s) and geotechnical equipment. Stril Explorer has been part of project for MMTs clients such as Nord Stream Pipelines and Nord Stream 2 and will be operated by MMT during 2018 and 2019.

On Tuesday 19th September, after more than a month out on the Black Sea, the third year of the Black Sea MAP marine archaeological project ends. The main objective of the project has been to map the submerged submarine landscapes along the Bulgarian coast. The water level of the Black Sea has risen significantly since the end of the last ice age, and ancient shorelines can now be found down to a depth of more than 100 metres.

Zug, May 18, 2017. MMT Sweden has been awarded a three-year contract by Nord Stream AG to inspect both lines of the Nord Stream Pipeline running through the Baltic Sea from Russia to Germany. The external inspection of the pipeline will be executed by the joint venture between MMT Sweden and Reach Subsea.The scope of work, involving approximately 150 days for 2017, includes visual and instrumental inspection of the pipelines with remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) over the entire length of the route. MMT has entered into a contract with Medgaz in Spain for inspection of the offshore pipeline between Algeria and Spain.The project will be performed within the Joint Venture agreement between MMT and Reach Subsea utilizing the vessel Edda Fonn.
The pipeline transports gas from Algeria to Spain and crosses the Mediterranean at a maximum depth of 2.155 metres of water.
The inspection work will be performed in February 2017.

MMT are pleased to announce a contract award with the Black Sea Maritime Archaeological Project (Black Sea MAP) for archaeological and geological scientific surveys at the Black Sea.The second season of the project will be performed during September 2016 from the vessel Stril Explorer and will consist of detailed seabed mapping, inspections and geotechnical sampling in close co-operation with the project scientific team.
