LATEST NEWS Pacific Ocean extends technology lead by integrating MapInfo® miAware(TM) LBS platform Stockholm - In time for the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes, Mobilaris announces they have further strengthened their core product Pacific Ocean by integrating MapInfo's leading geo-spatial LBS platform - miAware. Pacific Ocean, the market leading LBS middleware enables mobile end-user services to interact securely, standardized and seamlessly with many central systems in the operator's mobile network. Examples of network systems managed by Pacific Ocean are information databases, billing systems, security and integrity, subscriber databases, provisioning, positioning, and service accesses through SMS, MMS, WAP and Web. Mobilaris has taken a strategic step by extending the Pacific Ocean platform to seamlessly interact with MapInfo's miAware LBS platform, thus enabling any third party mobile services to benefit from enhanced geo-spatial functionality provided by MapInfo. MapInfo, a world leader in Location Based Services, provides Mobilaris with a complete set of geo-spatial functionality, which enable Operators to create highly customised mobile location services, incorporating map generation, proximity analysis, find-the-nearest, routing, directory services and content. The joint integration kicks off a partnership between the two companies and during the 4 days in Cannes 18 - 21 of February, visitors to the 3GSM show can experience live demos in both Mobilaris' and MapInfo's booths. The Mobilaris demo will consist of two Location Based Services, "Yellow Pages Near You" and "Find Your Buddy". Both products will be fully integrated to Mobilaris middleware and via that have access to positioning information, geo-spatial information and all other legacy systems available.
