Mobile Advertising Solution, mobile gaming company for advertisement-financed services, has appointed a new, qualified board. The newly appointed board members are Magdalena Bonde, Martin Carlesund, Henrik Hedelius and Fredrik Palmaeus, who was also appointed CEO. Tomas Althén was appointed Chairman of the board. The board’s main function will be to support Mobile Advertising Solution’s development and global expansion. In Sweden, the company’s technical solution is behind media group Metro’s gaming success, MetroPlay.

Mobile Advertising Solution is an expansive company that provides mobile phone advertising solutions in a fast growing global market. By the end of 2008, there were more than 4 billion mobile phone subscriptions around the world, a figure expected to be as high as 13 billion within five years. In Sweden, Mobile Advertising Solution has an exclusive cooperation with Metro, the world’s largest global newspaper, for supplying both technology and content for their successful gaming portal, MetroPlay. The cooperation with Metro may also expand onto additional markets. In order to make the most of this major market potential, the company has appointed a new, qualified board. Magdalena Bonde is co-founder of Cell Networks and EMM, among others, and has also held leading positions within companies such as Mogul.com and Clockwork. Ms Bonde also bought and sold the IP Centrex company Affecta. Martin Carlesund is CEO of Eniro Sverige and acting CEO of Eniro Finland. Eniro, the leading search company in the Nordic media market, is listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange and has some 5,000 employees. Mr Carlesund has also been CEO and Group Executive Director of 3L System AB. Henrik Hedelius has more than 18 years experience in the finance industry, both in Sweden and internationally. Mr Hedelius has held leading corporate finance positions at companies such as ABN Amro, Swedbank, Kaupthing Bank and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Mr Hedelius is now CEO and Partner of investment company, Hedelius & Berthelius AB. Fredrik Palmaeus, also new CEO of the company, has more than 25 years experience of entrepreneurship and business development within the IT and telecom industries and is co-founder of 12 companies within the sector. Mr Palmaeus has most recently moved from Amdocs, where he was vice president of business development for the advertising and media division in Europe. Amdocs has more than 17 000 employees and an annual turnover of almost 25 billion Swedish kronor. Prominent financier, Tomas Althén, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the board of the company. During the 1990s, Mr Althén founded several IT companies, among them public listed companies Kipling, Effnet and Aspiro. Tomas Althén is now an investor in a large number of companies and industries through his own company, Behemot. Mr Althén is also co-founder and major shareholder of public listed company Vinovo. "We are extremely pleased to have access to all that experience, practice and know-how that our new board possesses. The board plays an important role as the company enters a new and very expansive phase that includes several large international business collaborations. Advertisers have been demonstrating a great deal of interest in mobile marketing for a long time, but it is only now that the scope is wide enough and mobile phones are sufficiently advanced for a major breakthrough. Mobile marketing will soon be an important source of income for media, application developers and mobile phone companies," says Fredrik Palmaeus.
