Modular Management steps into Asian market

Modular Management contemplates a growing interest from Chinese branded companies aiming to global market expansion. These companies have in common that they need a broader product assortment to emphasize unique personality of each segment with the most effective approach, which can be accomplished by Modularization. This trend has carried us to establish Modular Management Asia with two offices in Beijing and Taipei to serve clients in greater China area since September 2010.

There are several manufacturing companies that work with modularization, for example leading companies as Scania and Volkswagen. But only a few can extract the full potential. “We apply modularity based on market requirements and company strategy. This gives positive results for the entire company, including sales and profit” says Alex von Yxkull, CEO and founder of Modular Management.

Since the start in 1996, Modular Management has grown organically, slowly but steadily, the staff has been doubled since 2004, when the company expanded with the US office. The establishment on the American market was a result of the increased customer demand, such as Whirlpool. Since 2004 Modular Management has doubled its staff to 30 consultants, who help and advice companies about the most efficient way of organizing their products in modules.

Modular Function Deployment® is a methodology that Modular Management has self-developed, for clients that need to develop an entire product platform, systematically and efficiently. The output of this service is that the client can realize a global strategy, where all of the company’s functions; engineering, supply, production, and marketing is harmonized. Modularization is a relatively complicated operation, and a risk is that individuals in companies only get one or a few chances in their career for such a comprehensive product development operation. This means that they mostly lack the previous experience as well as methods and tools to accomplish results.

Alex von Yxkull concludes “With the broad experience that we have gained from a wide range of industries, we can overcome the obstacles and time-efficiently practice our methods and software within modularization”.
