Case wins two Silver Awards for outstanding kitchen remodels

September 23, 2011 (Bethesda, MD) – Case Design/Remodeling, Inc. has been named a winner in the annual Best of the Best Design Award contest, presented by Professional Remodeler magazine. Case won two Silver Awards: the first in the Kitchens $50,000-$100,000 category and the second in the Kitchens Under $50,000 category.

Sponsored by Professional Remodeler magazine, the Best of the Best Design Awards is a national contest that recognizes outstanding remodeling projects in 18 categories. Nominees are residential remodeling companies from around the country. Entries are judged on construction quality, overall design, creativity, problem solving and value. A panel of four industry experts determines the award winners.

The first Case Design/Remodeling Silver Award is for a Kitchen Remodel $50,000-$100,000. Project Designer John Audet, Designer Lisa Cortright and Craftsman Gary Speicher listened to the owner’s desire to utilize green materials and to keep the original footprint, which included a café space and large windows overlooking the yard. Case installed energy efficient Pella windows to eliminate heat loss and added cork flooring with extra insulation between the crawl space and the eat-in area plus NuHeat electric floor heat. Crystal Green-core cabinets complemented the green theme, while chef-style appliances increased meal prep enjoyment.

The second award is for a Kitchen Remodel Under $50,000. The winning team included: Project Designer John Audet, Designer Jenny Hernandez and Craftsman Gary Speicher. The condo owner wanted the kitchen to reflect her more contemporary taste and increase the rental potential of the unit. The Case team increased the connection from the kitchen to the dining room, created a peninsula for more storage, and added ceiling and under cabinet lighting, among other updates.

“It’s an honor to receive these awards,” Case’s John Audet says. “Our creative Case staff worked diligently with the homeowners to make sure they were pleased with their remodeled kitchens.”
