Apria Healthcare, America's leading provider of integrated home healthcare products and services, is taking fulfilment and service support for the Avance® Max Negative Pressure Wound Therapy system to acute facilities across the United States.

Mölnlycke Health Care, a world-leading provider of single-use surgical and wound care products, is announcing today an extended agreement with Apria Healthcare, allowing patients across the US to benefit from an advanced wound care technology which limits the spreading of the wound exudate and can be removed with minimal skin stripping and pain.

Acute care settings across the United States will benefit from the combination of the Avance® Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) with Safetac® technology and Apria Healthcare’s best-in-class service and support infrastructure for logistics and billing management.

Safetac technology, combined with the Avance® NPWT provided by Mölnlycke Health Care, will benefit patients by minimizing skin reactions and pain during dressing removal, thereby improving overall patient comfort.

Apria Healthcare has a dedicated support team in place – with a 24-hour hotline supported by professionals at Mölnlycke Health Care.

The Avance® Max Negative Pressure Wound Therapy system, which is available for acute care settings, is designed to maximize NPWT care in the hospital, offering a clinically proven, cost-effective solution for the treatment of wounds. This will complement the Avance® Flex Negative Pressure Wound Therapy system in home care, where Apria is the exclusive U.S. distributor for Mölnlycke Health Care, in providing efficient hospital-to-home transitions and home care NPWT management.

Richard Twomey, CEO of Mölnlycke Health Care, comments:
"As the leading supplier of advanced wound care solutions along the continuum of care, we are delighted to bring the benefits of Negative Pressure Wound Therapy to more patients in the US. Our products are clinically proven to reduce pain at dressing change and our solutions are designed to make it easier for patients to enjoy their own healing journey.”

Dan Starck, CEO of Apria Healthcare comments:
"Together, Apria and Mölnlycke Health Care are delivering advanced wound care therapy across the nation in a bigger way than ever before, with an overall better patient experience. Patient transitions from hospital to home, and the therapy hand-off are easier and more consistent with the Avance® system in use from end to end. Transition planning upon admission with product continuity is now possible, benefitting patients and healthcare professionals alike.”
