Savvy Money Savers Should Look to Monitor their Energy Company this Winter
Moneymaxim’s unique energy monitor service is alerting many of its customers of savings they could be making by switching Energy Supplier - savings which in many cases they were unaware were possible.
With all of the major energy companies putting up their prices in time for winter, money saving website moneymaxim.co.uk is urging everyone to begin monitoring their energy tariffs in order to save.
Mark Bower from money saving website moneymaxim explains;
“Energy companies are continually switching their tariffs around and with prices increasing by as much as 20 per cent over the last year, this winter could be a long and cold one for those not on the most affordable tariff. Customers should compare the price of their energy against those of other providers to find the best deal for their own individual needs, considering issues such as postcode, family usage levels and discounts that are available for paperless billing.”
The latest figures from moneymaxim have revealed that the company’s unique EnergyMonitor service, which is independent and impartial, is helping over 50% of subscribers identify areas where they could be saving money by switching suppliers. Over half of these could save more as £100 per annum on their fuel bills.
Continues Bower;
“The average Household Dual Fuel Bill is now £1345 [per annum] and Ofgem estimate a supplier’s average margin per customer is a sizable £125. The reality of the situation is that profit is being made from those customers who have not reviewed their supply arrangements recently, with much smaller return being made by those who are on the best tariffs. With any reforms of the energy market unlikely to happen before Winter 2012, and only then if they have support of the Energy Companies, we are all currently left looking for the most competitive deal. The only way to find this is through monitoring suppliers.”
The moneymaxim EnergyMonitor Service covers the following companies: Atlantic, British Gas, Co-operative Energy, EBICo, Eon, EDF, First:Utility, NPower, OVO Energy, Sainsbury’s Energy, Scottish Hydro, Scottish Power, Southern Electricity, Spark, SWALEC, Telecom Plus and Utilita.
“If you are coming towards the end of a fixed or capped tariff we will let you know your options, but without the corporate spin your current supplier will put on it! It really is that simple – sign-up for free in less than five minutes.”
After registering your details for free on a simple one-page form at the moneymaxim.co.uk website, the EnergyMonitor team regularly check your details against the tariff you are on, comparing it to others in the market before letting you know if it’s likely you can save money by switching supplier.
