Monivent has sold the Neo100 to Leiden University Medical Center, LUMC, and the research team lead by Arjan te Pas, Professor in Pediatrics, with specific interest in the perinatal transition and neonatal resuscitation. The research team at LUMC is one of the most experienced centers internationally within the field of respiratory function monitoring and research on neonatal airway management.

The research group led by Professor Arjan te Pas at LUMC, home of the Concord resuscitation table, has invested in the Neo100 system. The monitors will be mounted on the Concords, allowing resuscitation with umbilical cord intact, as part of a project to minimize the initial separation between mother and child and get the benefits of delayed cord clamping.

“We are very excited to be a part of the solution as the team at LUMC are placing themselves in the forefront of delivery room management by investing in the latest technology developed specifically for this field“, says Maria Lindqvist, Business Developer Monivent.

“The Neo100 is user friendly and will help our clinicians in providing safe ventilation to this vulnerable group of patients”, says Professor Arjan te Pas.

Monivent AB (”Monivent”) develops, manufactures and sells medical devices in order to improve the emergency care provided to newborns in need of respiratory support at birth. About three to six percent of all newborns end up in this critical situation and healthcare professionals today lack good tools to determine how effective this manual ventilation is. Monivent has developed equipment that measure the airflow to the child directly in the face mask via a sensor module that sends data wirelessly to an external monitor. The caregiver thereby receives immediate feedback, which enables necessary adjustments to support an effective but at the same time gentle treatment. The company is also marketing a product for simulation-based training on manikins, building on the same technology as the clinical product. The clinical product, Monivent Neo100, is not available for sale in the United States.
