Martin Mayorga Establishes The Mayorga Latino Leadership Scholarship at Montgomery College

Martin Mayorga, an alumnus of Montgomery College, and co-founder of Mayorga Coffee, has established the Mayorga Latino Leadership Scholarship at Montgomery College with a major gift to the Montgomery College Foundation. The Mayorga Latino Leadership Scholarship will support need-based scholarships for Latino students who are business majors at Montgomery College. The gift will cover annual tuition for one student per year for at least five years. More than 3,400 Latino students currently attend Montgomery Colleg

"Martin Mayorga’s generosity to the Montgomery College Foundation is inspiring," said Montgomery College President DeRionne Pollard. "Investing in our students is critical. We appreciate his extraordinary gift in support of Latino students. As an alumnus of Montgomery College, we are proud of Martin’s success in business and his willingness to give back to his alma mater and support our current and future Latino business students with his philanthropy."

Martin Mayorga and Mayorga Coffee are well-known for their philanthropy to sustain the environment, while supporting local and international communities.

“I know first-hand the struggles associated with struggling to pay for a quality education,” said Mayorga. “My wife and I started this company 16 years ago to support all members of our supply chain, and our community is a critical member of that supply chain. I’m very proud to be able to be a part of developing future business leaders in our local community.” 

Mayorga Coffee is a Rockville, MD based coffee importer and roaster that is known and respected nationwide. Mayorga retail locations can be found at Dulles, Reagan, Pittsburgh and BWI airports as well as National Harbor and Wheaton Mall.
