Student Digital Forensics Team win's the Maryland Digital Forensics Investigation Challenge
The Montgomery College Cybersecurity Club's new digital forensics team took first place in the 1st Annual Maryland Digital Forensics Investigation Challenge on November 29.
The program was sponsored by the Department of Defense Cyber Crime Center (an agency within the U.S. Air Force). The DC3 Cyber Crime Case Challenge is a live-action, interactive simulation of a criminal case from beginning to end. Twenty-five teams from Maryland high schools, community colleges, and four-year institutions around the state participated.
Prizes include a trip to the Pentagon, expense-paid entry into the prestigious Global CyberLympics team competition with a chance to compete against the brightest information security minds in the world, and several thousands of dollars of courseware and exam vouchers.
Congratulations to team members Chris Williams and Aizaz Ahmad on a job well done and to Dr. C.K. Chiang, the team faculty sponsor and coach.
