On September 16, 1946, the first Montgomery College classes were held in the evenings at a local high school with a student body of 186 men and women. Today, the College has grown to a multi-campus institution and serves nearly 60,000 students a year, through both credit and noncredit programs, in more than 100 areas of study.

Montgomery College to Celebrate Commencement Friday, May 23

Montgomery College will celebrate its 67th commencement ceremony Friday, May 23 at 10 a.m. The event will honor graduates from the College’s three campuses in Montgomery County, Maryland – Germantown, Rockville, and Takoma Park/Silver Spring – along with apprenticeship graduates in Workforce Development & Continuing Education programs. Of the more than 3,000 students who have completed graduation requirements for associate’s degrees, apprenticeships or certificates this academic year, more than 800 will participate in the ceremony, which will be held on the Rockville Campus athletic field.

2014 Maryland Science Bowl Attracts More Than 200 Competitors from Across the State, Jan. 18

More than 200 high school students from across the state will converge on Montgomery College Saturday, January 18, for the 2014 Maryland Science Bowl. Montgomery College Trustees Adopt FY15 Operating Budget

The Montgomery College Board of Trustees adopted a fiscal year 2015 operating budget of $244.4 million on Monday, December 16, at its monthly meeting, that will bolster commitment to a strong local higher education option for all county residents—one that emphasizes access, affordability, excellence, and success.
