Retired Faculty Member Makes $1 Million Donation to Montgomery College
Montgomery College Professor Emerita Catherine Frisone Scott retired in 1986 after nearly 30 years of doing the work she loved. Her commitment to the students at Montgomery College never waned, and in 2007 she established an endowed scholarship in her name. Her latest gift, at age 95, is a $1 million donation to the Montgomery College Foundation. As a result of Scott’s generosity, Montgomery College, for the first time in its history, will name one of its buildings in honor of a faculty member. The Commons building at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus will be renamed the Catherine F.
