LAS VEGAS - June 13, 2023 - Moonbug, part of Candle Media, today announced a series of expansion plans for its biggest global franchise, CoComelon. Building on a 35% growth year-over-year* in YouTube subscribers, the franchise is launching a series of consumer product initiatives, expanding its live events program with a whole new concept and growing its music offering.

“We are thrilled with the growth of the CoComelon franchise, including two successful spin-offs and significant global expansion, all of which has led to nearly 25% growth in viewing across YouTube and Netflix this past year,” said Patrick Reese, General Manager for CoComelon at Moonbug. “In the second half of 2023, we’re bringing fans more of what they’re asking for with Nina’s dedicated channel as well as a series of consumer product initiatives, more investment in our music, and launching a whole new live experience concept all designed to bring our beloved characters closer to our fans’ doorstep.”

Consumer Products to Support Premium Originals and Spin-Offs

  • Netflix Original CoComelon Lane: Kids who have grown up with CoComelon will love CoComelon Lane, the Netflix Original Series that launches later this year. The franchise’s first-ever dialogue driven series features all new storylines and songs in seven minute episodes. The series covers developmental milestones like getting a first haircut or visiting the dentist’s office, to more intimate moments like being invited to a friend’s house for dinner or learning how to take care of a family pet. Moonbug will partner with Jazwares to create a collection of CoComelon Lane consumer products that will launch in early 2024.
  • Nina Gets Her Own Show and Doll: With two successful spin-offs launched in 2022 (Cody Time and JJ’s Animal Time, which together drove 15% of all CoComelon franchise YouTube watch time in Q1 2023), Nina becomes the latest spin-off character to get her own show this fall. Nina has sprinted through screens across the world and into our hearts as JJ’s loveable, sporty classmate and friend. Nina grew up surrounded by her family’s rich Mexican-American culture and she is always excited to share and celebrate her heritage in the everyday aspects of her life. In addition, the My Friend Nina doll by Jazwares will be available at Amazon and Walmart beginning in August.

Play Like JJ: CoComelon Sporting Goods and Seasonal Products

JJ and his friends love to play outside and with a new line of sporting, outdoor toys and wheeled goods, fans can play like JJ. The new collection from partners Jetson, Dynacraft, JAKKS Pacific and What Kids Want includes non-electric scooters with protective equipment, balance bikes, tricycles, foot to floor ride ons, wagons as well as sand toys, buckets, water play toys, fishing sets, golf sets and skipping ropes. Trips to the beach or park are about to get a lot more exciting!

Leading with Music

CoComelon fans know the franchise gives important early life lessons a soundtrack with a song for every big-little moment.  In fact, more than half of parents (61%) use songs or nursery rhymes as a tool to help children follow routines according to the brand’s research.

CoComelon Sing Along, an all-new artist profile, features songs you know and love, like "You Are So Beautiful", "Three Little Birds", "How Sweet It Is" or "Walkin' On Sunshine", sung by your favorite CoComelon characters.  The 1st album, "All About Baby!" came out May 5th and the next album, "CoComelon Vacation" will come out on Friday June 16th.  The franchise also recently launched CoComelon Lullabies, another all-new artist profile dedicated to music specifically composed to help littles ones sleep. The latest release, “Sleepy Lullabies” Vol 3, came out on June 2nd on all music platforms.

And as of June 7th, more CoComelon music can be found on SiriusXM’s Moonbug Radio (channel 307). The new dedicated channel is programmed around key moments in the day, such as slow instrumental tracks for bedtime and naps, routine and learning-based songs, upbeat tunes to dance along to, and even holiday themed playlists. It’s never been easier to sing along to ‘The Wheels On The Bus’ with JJ and his CoComelon friends no matter where you are!

A Whole New Live Experience: CoComelon Party Time

CoComelon Party Time is an interactive, play-based experience where kids and their families are invited to the colorful, fun-filled world of CoComelon. Guests will explore familiar scenes from the show, all while playing party games, singing and dancing. Guests will get to meet and interact with their favorite CoComelon characters, including JJ, Cody, YoYo, TomTom or Nina! The first CoComelon Party Time launches in Atlanta on June 16th before visiting cities nationwide. CoComelon Party Time is proudly presented by MaryRuth’s.

Show to Shelf with Target

In its latest show to shelf effort, CoComelon in partnership with Target, is teaching toddlers how to be a responsible and loving pet owner. The special event includes the launch of two brand new episodes on YouTube, an exclusive line of pet themed toys at Target and a social campaign celebrating fans and their pets during National Pet Month.
