LONDON – 22 September 2022 Moonbug Entertainment, a subsidiary of Candle Media, today announced that its first original series, "Mia's Magic Playground," will launch season two exclusively on all Sky platforms in the U.K. The series will be co-produced by Moonbug Entertainment and Sky U.K. and will be available on all Sky platforms including, Sky Q, Sky Glass, the Sky Kids App and streaming service NOW.

Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group) continues its engagement in the show by pre-buying the new season exclusively for its Viaplay streaming service in the Nordic and Baltic countries, Poland and the Netherlands, where it will be available with local dubbing.

“Mia’s Magic Playground” is a whimsical show for two- to five-year-olds about Mia and her two best friends Oscar and Tilly. Families across the U.K. and in Viaplay’s markets will be the first to access all 24 episodes in late 2022.

“We are thrilled to be in partnership with Sky on this new season, which will bring back all the great characters and worlds of Season 1, and add all-new characters along with new songs,” said Nicolas Eglau, Managing Director EMEA & APAC at Moonbug. Head Writer Angela Salt is leading a diverse group of writers, including Becky Overton (Thomas and Friends, Thomas and Friends Storytime and  Ninja express), Su-Ping Chio (Ollie and Friends, Leo the Wildlife Ranger and Best Furry Friends), Davey Moore (Thomas and Friends Storytime, Octonauts and Space Racers) and Nick Rodriguez (Polly Pocket, Pupstruction and Blaze and the Monster Machines) to bring these new stories to life.

The first season of "Mia's Magic Playground" experienced great success on Sky and Viaplay and has also launched on additional platforms globally, such as HBO Max US and Latam, Netflix India, Okko in Russia, Blu TV in Turkey, Mediaset Italy and more. WarnerMedia also continues its engagement in the show by pre-buying Season 2 for HBO Max and Cartoon Network in the US, Central and Latin America.

"As we continue to provide more access to content around the world, it is essential to provide content to families that encourage children to learn and grow," said Nicolas Eglau. "We look forward to deepening our already strong relationship with Sky, with ambitions to turn “Mia's Magic Playground” into a global brand that families love. We look forward to developing additional seasons in the future."

Lucy Murphy, Director of Sky Kids, said: “We are thrilled to be working with Moonbug on more episodes of the delightful Mia’s Magic Playground.
