Company sponsors red carpet event to highlight local music scene and inspire young talent

Costa Mesa, CA – Morgan Drexen  (www.morgandrexen.com) took its first major step in its initiative to promote Pacific Symphony and classical music in Orange County.  The company sponsored a red carpet event prior to a Kenny G concert over the weekend at the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall in Costa Mesa.  Morgan Drexen CEO Walter Ledda was recently appointed to the marketing committee of Pacific Symphony and said he was thrilled to help shine the spotlight on such a prestigious group.

“We at Morgan Drexen believe in helping the community in every way we can,” said Ledda.  “We think the Pacific Symphony does great work with music education and giving access to people who normally might not be able afford it.  Just like a lot of organizations, we know the Pacific Symphony is dealing with tight budgets, so we wanted to do whatever we could to help increase their exposure and aid in their education programs.”

Those who walked the red carpet included Kenny G, pop singer Rebecca Black, “Glee” star Iqbal Theba, singer and actress Andrea Marcovicci, and “Real Housewives of Orange County” stars Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley.  Supporters and board members of Pacific Symphony also enjoyed the glitz and glamour of the evening.

"Classical music affects everyone's life,” said Richard Kauffman, Guest Conductor for Pacific Symphony.  “From when we're small, when our parents play music for us to when we hear our first symphony orchestra. We hear classical music in motion pictures.  And in this world that is a very, very tough place to live, classical music is an oasis.  It gives us a chance to escape from all the media, all the politics, all of the upheaval in the world, and just refresh our souls.”

“The thing about classical music is that everybody on stage has spent their whole life learning an instrument,” said headliner Kenny G.  “I know what it’s like.  I’ve been practicing my saxophone for about 45 years now!  It’s just great to go see musicians that really practice their instruments and care about playing their instruments well.”

Pacific Symphony offers a variety of programs designed to integrate the Symphony and its music into the Orange County community.  Through these programs, the Symphony reaches nearly 50,000 Orange County residents annually.

“Pacific Symphony is unique,” said Michael Kerr, Executive Vice Chair of Pacific Symphony.  “In the United States, we give a higher percentage of our budget to education than any other orchestra in the country.”

Morgan Drexen is planning future red carpet events with Pacific Symphony in hopes of expanding its reach in Orange County and inspiring new generations of classical musicians.  Based out of Costa Mesa, CA, Morgan Drexen provides paralegal, paraprofessional and software support services to attorneys across the United States.
