About Us
MOSCTHA, the Socio-Cultural Movement for Haitian Workers, believes that every single individual denied access to basic needs is one too many. Founded in 1985 by Haitian laborers, the organization was initially created to provide healthcare to oppressed sugarcane cutters. Since then, MOSCTHA has expanded into a movement dedicated to improving and empowering underrepresented communities both in the Dominican Republic and Haiti through projects of community development. In 2009, MOSCTHA-USA was founded in an effort to bring MOSCTHA’s work to the American public to widen our network and support base to impact change in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
