Motio, Inc. Releases Version 2.5 for MotioPI and MotioPI ProEnhancements across-the-board to all panels
DALLAS, TX – August 30, 2011 – Motio, Inc. has released version 2.5 of their MotioPI and MotioPI Pro products. This latest release provides enhancements to panels across-the-board for both products, with the Pro version receiving many exclusive new features.
MotioPI is a free tool designed to provide IBM Cognos administrators and power users with greater transparency and increased efficiency when managing their BI environments. MotioPI Pro, the premium edition, builds upon the features in the free version by providing additional capabilities for management of Cognos objects en-masse.
“Bulk updates to IBM Cognos objects with MotioPI Pro reduces to minutes many tasks that would normally require an administrator days to complete,” said Matt Thibeau, the MotioPI product manager. “Version 2.5 aligns with our goal of continually improving our tools to enable Cognos administrators to manage tasks with greater efficiency and accuracy.”
One significant new feature in MotioPI Pro is the addition of the Portal Tabs Management Panel.
Normally Cognos administrators are forced to manage portal pages for each user on a singular basis. MotioPI Pro's new Portal Tab management capability is a time-saving feature that enables administrators to re-configure portal pages for entire groups of users within seconds.
“It’s a vital tool for Cognos administrators in high-volume shops,” said Ellis Makoha, MotioPI Pro user. “We have critical regulatory/compliance metrics portal that was rolled out to 250 users in less than a minute.”
Another new 2.5 feature is the Model panel, which gives administrators the ability to retrieve model specifications on published packages, recreate their associated Framework models, and generate reports on the data contained therein.
Other new features in the 2.5 release include:
- Support for My Folders content
- Support for ALL Cognos object types
- More powerful search predicates
- Save recipes for multiple panels
