Mott MacDonald appoints new managing director for its programme and commercial management business
Mott MacDonald has appointed Andy Willis as managing director of its programme and commercial management business. He succeeds Chris Spearing who has become managing director of the company’s water and environment division.
The consultancy’s programme and commercial management business has grown 15% year on year for the last five years. In 2012 it recruited 230 new staff including 20 graduates and is targeting continued growth to double in size over the next five years.
Commenting on his appointment, Andy said: “Mott MacDonald works with some of the world’s most prestigious companies. We take pride in delivering efficient, sustainable solutions to our customers by applying best practice and innovation and continually reviewing and enhancing our programme and commercial management service offering to respond to changing needs. This has underpinned our growth and significant level of repeat business over recent years and provides a positive base from which to continue to grow and develop our UK and international business.”
Andy was previously managing director of Mott MacDonald’s property and transportation programme management, commercial and strategic construction consultancy business, with an international portfolio of projects. He joined Franklin + Andrews (now part of Mott MacDonald) in 1980 becoming a chartered quantity surveyor, chartered arbitrator and project management consultant. During his time with the company he has worked on major transportation, buildings and sports projects throughout the UK. Projects include the redevelopment of Wembley Park, Stratford and Kings Cross Underground stations, British Airport Authority’s developments at Heathrow and Gatwick, the Aviva Stadium in Dublin and the BRIT Performing Arts School in Croydon. Andy is a fellow of both the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
