Mott MacDonald retained on Supreme Court PPP in The Hague, the Netherlands
Mott MacDonald has been retained as lenders’ technical advisor by Poort van Den Haag for the new Supreme Court building in The Hague, the Netherlands. The consultancy will carry out construction and operations monitoring during the next phases of the public–private partnership (PPP) project, which reached financial close on 23 January 2013.
Due to an increase in activities, the Supreme Court requires additional spacing. The new premises will be situated in the centre of The Hague, on the site of the former French Embassy and Axa building which will be demolished. Facilities will include offices and courtrooms with a floor area of 15,000 sq m, as well as an underground car park.
The equity for the project is being provided by BAM PPP and their joint venture partner PGGM, a large pension fund. The Supreme Court project is PGGM’s first investment in an accommodation project.

The Supreme Court is due to be handed over to users in 2015.
