Sharif Atkins and Dr. Ted Baehr of Movieguide Announce the Nominations for the 21st Annual Movieguide Awards.

Los Angeles, CA – Sharif Atkins (White Collar, ER) and Dr. Ted Baehr announced the nominations for the 21stannual Movieguide Awards today at a press conference at the Universal Hilton Hotel.

The only family-centric awards show in Hollywood, the Movieguide Awards nominates movies and television shows which most exhibit values that will attract family and faith audiences.

“We’re looking for films that offer hope,” Baehr, publisher of Movieguide®, said. “We need to stress the positive. People really need hope. We need a society of hope, not hopelessness.”

Atkins and Baehr joked back and forth during the nominations announcement, Atkins verbalizing his admiration for Movieguide® and Dr. Baehr. “When I go to the Awards, it’s a great time,” Atkins said. “Everybody is smiling.”

The 21stAnnual Movieguide Awards Gala will take place February 15th, 2013, at the Universal Hilton. Movies, television shows, and actors can be nominated in any of the following categories: Best Family Film, Best Mature Audience Film, Epiphany Movie Prize, Epiphany Television Prize, Grace Award for Movie Acting, Grace Award for TV Acting, The Faith & Freedom Award, The Freiss Free Enterprise Prize, and the Kairos Prize for Screenwriting.
