Goal.com to power NBCSports.com’s Soccer Coverage - Partnership Kicks off with 2010 FIFA World Cup coverage

NBCSports.com will partner with Goal.com, the world’s largest new media soccer company, as part of a content and distribution partnership around Goal.com’s in-depth, global soccer coverage. This partnership for NBCSports.com, the sports section of MSNBC.com, kicks off with the upcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Starting with the World Cup buildup, NBCSports.com will enlist Goal.com’s team of 550 writers around the globe who use their local expertise to create content for a passionate global soccer audience. As part of this alliance, NBCSports.com’s soccer section will be rebranded as ‘NBCSports.com Soccer, powered by Goal.com’ and will include news, features, editorials and live match updates from the Goal.com editorial team. The ‘NBCSports.com Soccer powered by Goal.com’ section will go live starting June 1, 2010. Goal.com will supply NBCSports.com with extensive World Cup features including game previews, columns, match reports and player ratings. In addition, as part of this agreement Goal.com will also provide NBCSports.com soccer coverage on the major international soccer leagues – English Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A, La Liga and MSL - focusing upon league news, competitions, transfers as well as the UEFA Champions League and the Euro 2010 qualifying competitions.
