Munters helps preventing air pollution in Germany Munters has reached an agreement with the power company RWE Rheinbraun in Germany for the supply of 8 mist eliminator systems. Munters mist eliminators are key components in the emission control systems which are used in coal fired power plants in order to reduce emission of harmful substances which can cause severe environmental damage. Munters has previously delivered mist elimination systems to the Niederaussem plant and the present order is for retrofitting the existing systems. The agreement covers firm orders for two systems and further options for another six systems. The first installation has been completed with the second in progress. The value of the firm orders is SEK 9 million and the total value of the firm orders and the options is SEK 36 million. Two more systems are planned for installation in 2001 and the remaining four are planned to be installed during 2002. The Niederaussem power plant is owned by Germany's largest power supplier RWE. RWE owns four large coal fired power plants which produce around 15% of Germany's total power supply.
