Munters increases productivity for chicken farmers Munters in Saudi Arabia have received an order for CELdek® to Al Sahli Est, one of the largest companies for poultry equipment in Saudi Arabia. The order value is SEK 7,1 millions. - The poultry industry is a non cyclical industry with a yearly growth of 10%, says Lennart Evrell, CEO and President of the Munters Group. - The contract with Al Sahli Est is one more example of Munters' position as a world leading supplier of evaporative cooling for the chicken industry. This ingenious system builds on the principle of air getting cooled by evaporating water. The evaporative cooling principle has been used since ancient Egypt and has been developed to more or less a standard part of poultry and greenhouses in the warmer parts of the world. A temperature between 20°C and 25°C and a relative humidity not higher than 75% have generally been found to be the optimum climatic conditions for rearing chicken. Using Munters technique for evaporative cooling, chicken farmers can increase productivity by creating the right indoor climate. - Evaporative cooling is a cost-efficient and environmentally adapted alternative to traditional air conditioning, says Mats R Karlsson, Division Manager, Munters HumiCool in Europe. - Alternative techniques are often based on freon utilisation which breaks down the ozone layer in the atmosphere. CELdek® is the cooling pad in Munters systems for evaporative cooling. When hot and dry air passes the wet pads it becomes both cooler and more humid. In hot and dry climates cooling from +45°C to +26°C is possible by using Munters CELdek® cooling pad, water and air. - Munters CELdek® pad embodies innovation in design, experience and quality in manufacture, as well as a thorough understanding of the target application. This has made Munters the market leader, Mats R Karlsson concludes.
