Japanese Customer Places Order for Micronic Omega6600 Series for Semiconductor Applications Taby, Sweden - August 3, 2004 - Micronic Laser Systems AB (Stockholmsborsen's Attract 40: MICR) has received an order from a Japanese customer for an Omega6600B laser photomask pattern generator for use in volume production semiconductor applications. The tool is scheduled to ship during the forth quarter of 2004. "Micronic's steady order intake for 2004 continues with another important sale to a Japanese customer," said Sven Lofquist, Micronic president and CEO. "This order further signals the maturity of the Omega product line. Introduced in 1999, the Omega laser pattern generation line has come into its own as photomask manufacturers recognize the tool's high productivity, yield and reliability." Omega6600 is Micronic's most advanced laser raster scanner for standard i-line process, built on the production-proven Omega6000 platform. The tool's combination of high throughput and leading-edge resolution make it ideal for performing volume manufacturing of advanced photomasks. Its highly flexible architecture enables the Omega6600 to provide laser pattern generation capability for advanced semiconductor, optical sensors and display photomasks. A number of options are available, including flexible grid space and advanced datapath with real-time fracturing. Users can select between single- and double-pass writing as well as grid to optimize the balance of throughput and performance. Company contact: Sven Lofquist President & CEO .
