Major Japanese Semiconductor Photomask Manufacturer Orders Omega6600 System from Micronic
Major Japanese Semiconductor Photomask Manufacturer Orders Omega6600 System from Micronic Taby, Sweden - August 12, 2004 - A major Japanese customer has placed an order for an Omega6600 laser pattern generator from Micronic Laser Systems AB (Stockholmsborsen's Attract 40: MICR). The tool will be used in the volume production of advanced semiconductor photomasks. Shipment of the Omega6600 is scheduled for the second half of 2004. This order closely follows the announcement of a separate Omega6600 sale to another Japanese customer, announced by Micronic at beginning of August. Once the installations of these latest tools are complete, the Micronic Omega laser pattern generation tool will be in use at all Japanese photomask manufacturers. "With this order the customer base will expand for semiconductor applications," said Sven Lofquist, Micronic president and CEO. "As recent orders demonstrate, the tool continues to fortify its reputation as a workhorse in the semiconductor industry." Omega6600 is Micronic's most advanced laser raster scanner for standard i-line process, built on the production-proven Omega6000 platform. The tool's combination of high throughput and high resolution makes it ideal for performing volume manufacturing of advanced photomasks. The highly flexible architecture of the Omega6600 provides laser pattern generation capability for advanced semiconductor, optical sensors and display photomasks. A number of options are available, including flexible grid space and advanced datapath with real-time fracturing. Users can select single or double-pass writing as well as grid to optimize the balance of throughput and performance. Company contact: Sven Lofquist President & CEO .
