Micronic Names Masashi Tsutsui President of Micronic Japan K.K. Täby, Sweden -- December 13, 2001 -- Micronic Laser Systems AB (OM Stockholm Exchange: MICR), a leading manufacturer of laser pattern generation equipment to the semiconductor and display industries, today announced the appointment of Masashi Tsutsui to the position of president of Micronic Japan K.K., Micronic's Japanese subsidiary. In this role, Mr. Tsutsui is chartered with strengthening Micronic Japan K.K.'s position in the Japanese marketplace and leading its overall operations. Mr. Tsutsui will report directly to Ulf Sundström, Micronic's vice president of sales and customer support. As president, Mr. Tsutsui is responsible for securing Micronic's entry into the Japanese semiconductor market and maintaining its leadership within the display market. He will also be focused on further developing its customer support organization, which currently consists of technical service, installation and application support. "Mr. Tsutsui will be a powerful resource in accelerating the development on our Japanese business. He will play an integral role in strengthening and developing this business in line with Micronic's overall corporate strategies," said Sven Löfquist, Micronic President and CEO. Mr. Tsutsui joins Micronic Japan K.K. from Marubeni Corporation, where he worked for nearly two decades, most recently serving as assistant general manager of the Nuclear Power Department. While at Marubeni, he was instrumental in commercially importing nuclear fuels from the U.S. for the first time in history. Mr. Tsutsui holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan.
