Micronic Receives Order for LRS Series Pattern Generator and Upgrades Assessment for Order Intake in 2005

Taby, Sweden – October 3, 2005 – Micronic Laser Systems AB, a leading global supplier of laser pattern generators for photomasks, has received an order for an advanced LRS series pattern generation tool from a customer based in Asia.

In connection with this, the board of directors has upgraded its assessment for order intake for the full year 2005. The board’s earlier assessment was that order intake for the full year 2005 would exceed the previous year (SEK 945 million), while sales were expected to reach over SEK 1,000 million. This assessment has been revised and the board now expects the order intake to exceed SEK 1,200 million in 2005. The earlier sales expectation to reach over SEK 1,000 million remains unchanged. “We enjoyed a very strong order intake during the third quarter and are seeing a continued need for expansion of photomask manufacturing capacity in several market areas,” said Sven Lofquist, Micronic president and CEO. “In view of these factors, we are now upgrading our order intake assessment for 2005.
