Micronic Receives Order for Omega6600, a 130 nm Capable Laser Pattern Generator Täby, Sweden -- March 21, 2001 -- Micronic Laser Systems AB (OM Stockholm Exchange: MICR), a leading manufacturer of laser pattern generation equipment to the semiconductor and display industries, today announced a sale of an Omega6600 laser pattern generator to a major commercial photomask manufacturer. The tool is part of an upgrade process to extend the Omega6000 product performance and is scheduled to be shipped during second quarter 2001. The Omega6600 is the first commercially available laser pattern generator capable of writing photomasks for semiconductors with design rules as small as 130 nm. The tool has been outfitted with a flexible imaging raster engine (FIRE) architecture, including features such as flexible grid spacing, enhanced focus control, selectable double pass, advanced data path and real-time CD correction. "This sale demonstrates the acceptance of the improved capabilities of the Omega6600," said Ulf Sundström, Micronic Laser Systems' vice president, sales.
