Micronic Receives Three Orders for LRS Series Pattern Generators as It Serves Display Manufacturing Boom

Taby, Sweden –June 30 2005 – Micronic Laser Systems AB, a leading provider of laser pattern generators for the semiconductor and flat panel display (FPD) industries, has received three orders for its latest-generation LRS series pattern generation tool for the production of advanced thin film transistor-liquid crystal display TFT-LCD photomasks from customers based in Asia.

There are two types of LCD, passive and active. The TFT-LCD is an active LCD that provides better image quality and faster response than a passive LCD. The active LCDs have a TFT in each pixel.
