Micronic Receives Two-Tool Order from Japanese Customer Taby, Sweden - October 1, 2004 - A Japanese customer has placed an order for an LRS15000 display photomask laser pattern generator and an MMS15000 mask metrology system from Micronic Laser Systems AB (Stockholmsbörsen's Attract 40: MICR). The systems are scheduled for delivery during 2005. "Display manufacturers recognize that Micronic's LRS15000 pattern generator and MMS15000 metrology system form a powerful combination, capable of providing the entire package of capabilities needed for advanced display photomask pattern generation and measurement," said Sven Lofquist, Micronic president and CEO. "This recognition, combined with Micronic's excellent reputation for tool performance, is creating a strong demand for these tools in Japan and throughout the world." Micronic's LRS15000 combines accurate writing performance with a 1300x x1500 mm stage, enabling the production of generation 7 TFT-LCD and color filter photomasks. The MMS15000 is a registration measurement system for TFT-LCD photomasks. The system is used to verify that the pattern placement on large area photomasks matches the high accuracy demands of advanced displays, a critical requirement in the production of advanced LCDs. The MMS15000 is based on the same production-proven technology as Micronic's laser pattern generators. The system offers registration measurement accuracy of better than 100 nm and is capable of performing measurements on photomask as large as 1300 x 1500 mm.
