Micronic's growth in the Display market continues Taby, Sweden, April 22, 2004 - Micronic Laser Systems AB (Stockholmsborsen's "Attract 40 list": MICR) today presents the Group's Interim Report for January 1 - March 31, 2004. * First quarter order intake was SEK 218 (76) million. * Net sales during the first quarter reached SEK 97 (22) million. * The first quarter result after financial items was SEK -30 (-53) million. * The first quarter net result amounted to SEK -24 (-39) million, which is equivalent to SEK -0,61 (-2,01) per share. * Order backlog was SEK 911 (277) million. "It's with a great deal of satisfaction that I tell you we have reached our goals with respect to order intake and sales during the first quarter. The demand for Micronic's products in the hot Display market continues with undiminished strength, and we are putting great efforts into shortening lead times in the supply chain", says Sven Lofquist, CEO and president of Micronic Laser Systems. "We have also taken a major step forward in the semiconductor market. Our development efforts have been intense and given good results", states Sven Lofquist. "In our main market, Japan, we now handle the sales process within our own organization, which might shorten time between the formal order and shipment. However we foresee reaching an order intake during the first six months in line with our expectations", Sven Lofquist explains.
