New president of Micronic

New president of Micronic Dr. Bert Jeppsson, a member of the board of Micronic Laser Systems AB, has been appointed as the new President and CEO of Micronic, effective immediately. Staffan Junel leaves Micronic after serving for two years as President. Dr. Jeppsson is currently the Chairman of the Board of Ericsson Components AB. He has been with Ericsson for 18 years and has held numerous research and development positions. Dr. Jeppsson was also the head of Business Area Components, including microelectronic business. "As Micronic enters a new expansion and growth phase through its strong investment in advanced laser technologies for display and semiconductor applications, Dr. Jeppsson's experience and expertise will be of great importance", explains Christer Zetterberg, Chairman of the Board of Micronic. Micronic Laser Systems in brief Micronic is a Swedish high-tech company engaged in the development, manufacturing and marketing of a series of extremely accurate laser writers for the production of photomasks. The technology involved is known as microlithography. Micronic's systems are used by the world's leading electronics companies in the manufacturing of television and computer displays, semiconductor circuits and semiconductor packaging components. The company has 160 employees, 125 of which have joined the company since the beginning of 1996. Micronic is situated in Täby, north of Stockholm and has at present service offices in Japan, Taiwan and the US.
