Strong Demand for Micronic's Mask Metrology System Continues: Micronic Receives Order for Another MMS15000 Taby, Sweden - April 21, 2004 - Micronic Laser Systems AB (Stockholmsbörsen's Attract 40: MICR) today announced it has received an order for an MMS15000 mask metrology system from an Asian-based photomask manufacturer. The tool is expected to ship during the first half of 2005. "The obvious market need for Micronic's mask metrology system is very encouraging for us," said Sven Löfquist, president and CEO of Micronic Laser Systems AB. "This order marks the fourth booking of the MMS15000 system since the tool was introduced in October 2003." The MMS15000 is a registration measurement system for TFT-LCD photomasks. The system is needed to verify that the pattern placement in the different photomasks for a display match. This is critical in the production of advanced LCD displays. The MMS15000 is based on Micronic's technology for pattern generators. The registration measurement accuracy is better than 100 nm and the maximum mask size is 1300 x 1500 mm.
