Success in the New Product Line - Micronic Receives Order for MMS15000 Metrology System Täby, Sweden - April 1, 2004 - Micronic Laser Systems AB (Stockholmsbörsen's Attract 40: MICR), a leading manufacturer of laser pattern generation equipment to the display and semiconductor industries, today announced it has received an order for an MMS15000 mask metrology system for advanced TFT-LCD photomask measurement from a customer based in Asia. The tool is expected to ship during the first half of 2005. This marks the third MMS15000 order since its introduction in October 2003, confirming the industry's growing need for this new measurement capability. "The pace of booking for this new product has exceeded our expectations". The MMS15000 is a registration measurement system for TFT-LCD photomasks. The system is needed to verify that the pattern placement in the different photomasks for a display match. This is critical in the production of advanced LCD displays.The MMS15000 is based on Micronic's technology for pattern generators. The registration measurement accuracy is better than 100 nm and the maximum mask size is 1300 x 1500 mm.
