Blackbox™ C20 noise-cancelling earphones – The ideal earphone for commuters, world-travellers or those who just want to hear the music.
4th December 2012 – London – Blackbox™, the brand name of Phitek® Systems Ltd, the leading noise cancellation systems provider to the airline industry, today launches across Europe its C20 active noise cancelling earphones with telephony. Employing the company’s patented active noise-cancellation circuitry in a consumer package means every-day users can now eliminate the annoying ambient noise that distracts from their personal entertainment enjoyment.
Now available in the UK and Europe, the Blackbox™ C20 has the RRP of £99.99 / €119.99.
Whether it is travelling by air, bus, train or even working in an office, low frequency ambient noise can be extremely distracting and can interfere with a users music and media enjoyment. Blackbox™C20’s marry audiophile audio design with world-leading noise cancelling technology to deliver the high-quality audio performance required by the most ardent of users. Using the signal received from microphones built into the C20’s, Phitek®‘s patented ANR™ Active Noise Rejection™ technology constantly monitors and analyses sound entering the ear canal and compares this with the sound signal from the original source. ANR™ then generates ‘anti-waves’ of sound, to suppress and largely cancel-out the unwanted, external noise leaving just the music or entertainment as required by the listener.
When combined with an audiophile design, which includes high-specification neodymium magnets, ANR™ accurately delivers hi-fidelity sound from any personal music source, providing deep bass, clear vocals and natural highs. Ergonomically sculpted ear pieces fit comfortably within the ear, ensuring the very best in personal listening performance, particularly when mobile. Up to 50 hours of power is efficiently delivered by a single AAA alkaline battery concealed within a controller that clips securely and unobtrusively.
Designed to work with Apple iOS device products, C20’s in-line mic/audio remote control (answers/ ends calls, controls music play/ pause/ next/ previous functions) gives the user total freedom and the ability to carry on their routines no matter where they are. C20 can be used with a wide range of audio-source devices, as well as with most smartphones by means of the supplied adaptor.

About Phitek® Systems Limited
Phitek® Systems Ltd is the world’s leading supplier of electro-acoustic technologies for audio enhancement and active noise cancellation. Focused on innovation and invention, Phitek® provides global customers with creative solutions for the effective reduction of ambient noise based on its patented Active Noise Rejection (ANR™) technology.
Phitek® ANR™ was originally developed for use in commercial passenger aircraft where background noise is insidious leading to hearing loss, fatigue and stress. Today, Phitek® ANR™ is used by more than 50 airlines worldwide, servicing more than 15 million passengers each year. The technology works by measuring the noise field close to the ear and then calculating an “antinoise” response, which is sent to the headphone speaker. The noise and antinoise signals combine to yield near silence. Phitek® ANR™ is very effective at reducing background noise and, unlike alternatives, tunes its response to suit prevailing noise conditions.
Beyond aviation, Phitek® ANR™ technology is utilised by leading brands in audio and mobile music and has been recognised by leading publications including Wired Magazine, PC Magazine and Macworld as “best-in-class”. Phitek®’s impressive portfolio of patented solutions spans commercial aviation, consumer audio and mobile telephone segments in both in-ear, and on-ear formats. The company is a member of CSR’s extension partner programme and is active in developing world first solutions for Bluetooth monaural and binaural applications.
Phitek® Systems Ltd is headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand with offices located in Hong Kong, Shenzhen and San Jose, California.
