NCCN Receives Esteemed Accreditation for CME Activities
NCCN has received Accreditation with Commendation from the ACCME in recognition of relevant, effective, practice-based continuing medical education.
FORT WASHINGTON, PA — The National Comprehensive Cancer Network® (NCCN®) has been surveyed by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and awarded Accreditation with Commendation for six years as a provider of continuing medical education (CME) for physicians.
ACCME accreditation seeks to assure the medical community and the public that NCCN provides physicians with relevant, effective, practice-based CME that supports United States health care quality improvement.
“With nearly 20,000 learners across NCCN CME activities annually, this accreditation confirms the dedication of NCCN staff and representatives of the 23 NCCN Member Institutions to creating high-quality content that improves the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of care for people with cancer,” said Deborah J. Moonan, RN, BSN, Director, Continuing Education and Grants, NCCN.
The ACCME employs a rigorous, multilevel process for evaluating institutions’ CME programs according to the high accreditation standards adopted by all seven ACCME member organizations. These organizations of medicine in the United States are the American Board of Medical Specialties, the American Hospital Association, the American Medical Association, the Association for Hospital Medical Education, the Association of American Medical Colleges, the Council of Medical Specialty Societies, and the Federation of State Medical Boards of the US, Inc.
