Trails & Vistas brings award-winning performances to Lake Tahoe region
Truckee, CA - New for 2013, Trails & Vistas World Concert will take place at the Truckee Regional Park Amphitheater from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 7. Attendees will hear numerous award-winning musicans from as far away as Boston, MA and as close by as Reno, NV.
“We believe that the arts transform the human experience, that art is a gift to be shared,” shares Elizabeth Archer, Trails & Vistas' Performance Director.
Concert Line-Up
- Immerse in the calming, award-winning music by flutist Ann Licater (www.fluteforthesoul.com)
- Take pleasure in the acoustics from double-neck guitarist Ian Ethan Case from Boston, MA (http://ianethan.com)
- Feel the beats from Reno Taiko Tsurunokai, a Japanese drum group based in NV (http://www.renotaiko.com)
- Rejoice in the performance by The San Jose State University Symphony Orchestra directed by Michael DiGiacinto
In addition to the music there will be original performance art by Susie Alexander, one of the West’s most prolific muralists, and an unforgettable dance by an exquisite Inner Rhythms' ballerina. Bring a picnic and low back chairs to listen to delightful performances from featured Trails & Vistas musicians. Red Truck also plans to be on site with fulfilling culinary delights for sale.

Trails & Vistas is a 501 c 3 nonprofit organization that seeks to create art experiences in nature that inspire environmental awareness. Trails & Vistas’ annual art hikes are a collaborative effort led by Founder / Artistic Director Nancy Tieken Lopez and Co-Director Elizabeth Archer with vital support from volunteers and regional organizations including the Truckee Donner Land Trust, InnerRhythms Dance Theatre and the KidZone Children’s Museum. The first art hike was created as Tieken-Lopez’ thesis project in 1994. After moving to Truckee, she expanded the art hikes to form Trails & Vistas with Elizabeth Archer from InnerRhythms. Trails & Vistas hikers have experienced art in nature in Gregory Creek Canyon, Azalea Lake, Donner Ski Ranch, Tahoe Donne, Squaw Valley, Shirley Canyon, Spooner Lake and Summit Lake.
