Nefab has signed an agreement to acquire all shares in the packaging company Bijl B.V. in The Netherlands. Bijl supplies preservation packaging materials and ESD protective packaging materials to the industry. The company’s main market is The Netherlands and operations generate sales of about EUR 4 M annually. The acquisition is a step in Nefab’s intentions to increase market presence in Europe, while at the same time the acquisition represents a broadening of the product offering and product expertise. The acquisition is not expected to affect Nefab’s earnings per share in the current year. “Bijl is one of the leading companies on the market with regard to deliveries of ESD (Electro Static Discharge) protective packaging,” says Lars-Åke Rydh, President and CEO of Nefab. “The expertise in the company complements Nefab’s offering to customers, particularly in the telecom and electronics industry. After the acquisition of Bijl, our total sales in the Benelux countries amounts to about EUR 15 M. This makes us one of the leading suppliers of transport packaging material on this market,” continues Rydh.
