Neste appoints Minna Aila Senior Vice President, Sustainability, Public Affairs, Communications and Brand Marketing and member of the Executive Committee

Neste Corporation, Stock Exchange Release, 14 October 2019 at 9:05 a.m. (EET) 

Minna Aila, (LL.M) has been appointed as Senior Vice President for Sustainability, Public Affairs, Communications and Brand Marketing and member of the Neste Executive Committee. She will join Neste on April 2020, at the latest, and will report to President and CEO Peter Vanacker. Aila will transfer to Neste from Konecranes. 

“I am delighted to have Minna Aila to lead our Sustainability, Public Affairs, Communications and Brand Marketing functions and to strengthen our Executive Committee. She has a solid experience in leading functions such as sustainability, communications, marketing and government relations in a multinational business environment across a wide variety of industries. Her diverse and international experience supports the implementation of our growth strategy,” says Neste’s President and CEO Peter Vanacker.

“Neste’s business transformation is inspiring, and the company's achievements in developing sustainability have been remarkable. I'm really excited about this opportunity to transfer to Neste, and to contribute to the execution of Neste’s future growth and increasing brand value," says Minna Aila.

Simo Honkanen, Senior Vice President of Neste’s Sustainability, Public Affairs, Communications and Brand Marketing and member of the Executive Committee, will retire in April 2020. He has worked in the company since 2006. 

“I would like to express my warmest thanks to Simo Honkanen for his work on Neste's success during the years. Simo has played an important role in contributing Neste’s transition from a national oil company to a global renewable energy company since the beginning and was a key to this very successful transition. Also, he has held a key position in developing corporate sustainability, which makes us the third most sustainable company in the world today,” continues Vanacker.
