Broadband wireless internet access service launched in Czech Republic

Wednesday, October 4, 2000 BROADBAND WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS SERVICE LAUNCHED IN CZECH REPUBLIC New York and Stockholm -October 4, 2000 - NetCom AB (Publ) ("NetCom", "the Group") (Nasdaq Stock Market: NECSB), a leading alternative pan-European provider of telecommunications and related services, today announced that its subsidiary Société Européenne de Communication (SEC) has launched broadband Wireless Local Loop (WLL) services in the Czech Republic. The WLL license in the Czech Republic is within the 3.4 to 3.6GHz spectrum, and covers a population of over 10 million. The service commences today in Prague and Brno, the two largest cities in the Czech Republic, with a combined population of nearly 2 million. The target client base consists of small and medium sized businesses (SMEs). The service, named Tele2 Always On, guarantees minimum connections speeds of 128 kbps and offers three levels of data transmission: up to 200 MB, up to 1GB and unlimited.
