Dala Energi selects PacketFront as the preferred supplier for Fiber-to-the-Home access solutions
Dala Energi extends its Fiber-to-the-Home network.
Dala Energi, located in the heart of Dalarna - a beautiful countryside region in mid- Sweden, is a utility company, which has established and operates the municipality networks for the cities of Leksand, Rättvik, Gagnef and Säter with already more than 2000 connected customers. In order to provide all the advantages of a Fiber-to-the-Home network to the municipality of Säter, Dala Energi has continued with the build out of their network and has ordered PacketFront’s ASR5000 Access Router for this expansion. The whole network is controlled by BECS, which is PacketFront’s control and provisioning system. BECS is a shared platform and is managed by a communications operator in this region.
Dala Energi enables Fiber-to-the-Home services to all municipalities in the region including services such as telephony, Internet and TV.
‘We have selected the PacketFront solution in order to deliver state-of-the-art technology using Fiber-to-the-Home in our municipalities to our customers. In addition, we have chosen a direct approach with PacketFront and we are very pleased with this new partnership and the possibility to benefit from their skills and knowledge of networking solutions - both now and in future projects. We are looking forward starting our Gibabit-to-the-Home roll-out in 2012 in close collaboration with PacketFront’, says Pär Wikström, Head of the Urban Network for Dala Energi.
