NETWORK ANNOUNCES THREE FILMS IN BFI LONDON FILM FESTIVAL LINE-UP FOR 2013

Network Distributing is pleased to announce that three of its forthcoming cinema releases will have UK premieres at the BFI London Film Festival. Xavier Dolan’s critically acclaimed drama TOM AT THE FARM will be in competition at this year’s festival. Sebastian Lelio’s GLORIA and Amat Escalanate’s HELI will respectively be in the “Love” and “Thrill” strands.
 
TOM AT THE FARM
Director: Xavier Dolan
Synopsis: Tom, a young advertising copywriter, travels to the country for a funeral. There, he’s shocked to find out no one knows who he is, nor who he was to the deceased, whose brother soon sets the rules of a twisted game. In order to protect the family’s name and grieving mother, Tom now has to play the peacekeeper in a household whose obscure past bodes even greater darkness for his “trip” to the farm. Starring Xavier Dolan and Pierre-Yves Cardinal.

Synopsis: An inspiring, contemporary comedy-drama about loneliness, self-discovery, relationships, love and female independence. Meet Gloria. Gloria gives everything to their intense passion but Rodolfo leaves her dancing between hope and despair. Can she find the strength to realise that all life’s lessons will leave her shining brighter?

HELI
Director: Amat Escalante
Synopsis: The controversial and violently explicit film follows the attempts of a Mexican family to make some money. Trouble ensues when the youngest child, 12-year-old Estela (Andrea Vergara), starts dating a 17-year-old fledgling special-forces cadet (Juan Eduardo Palacios). He steals some confiscated cocaine so the two of them can get married. But this angers Estela’s older brother, auto plant worker Heli (Armando Espitia), who discards the drugs and they then have to face the corrupt police force they have crossed.
