Nevion’s latest media transport solutions head to New York for CCW 2013
Integrated solutions for media processing and routing, media transport and DTV will be showcased at HD World
NEW YORK - CCW, booth #701 - Oct. 31, 2013 – Nevion will be bringing its industry-leading media transport solutions to HD World, part of Content & Communications World (CCW) in New York, which runs from November 13-14. Visitors to the media and entertainment technology expo can see Nevion’s latest solutions for video over IP, optical networks and digital television (DTV), which are helping its customers prepare for the next generation of media transport over any network, from acquisition to the home.
Located at booth #701 at New York’s Javits Convention Center, Nevion will be showing its latest range of innovations including:
Broadcast infrastructure for remote production
Nevion will demonstrate its new highly scalable, end-to-end broadcast system based on mixed IP, optical and/or electrical distributed routing. It allows use of any infrastructure resource at any site, regardless of distance and location, making it ideally suited for applications such as remote production. Its flexibility comes from a distributed routing system backed by an overarching management system such as VideoIPath, which maps virtual routers to all resource access points through simple routing control. It encompasses Nevion’s Sublime optical routing solutions, Flashlink Compact II optical conversion, and extensive IP infrastructure through the Ventura transport platform and Nevion’s JPEG 2000 video gateway.
DTV
Nevion’s latest DTV solutions encompass the award-winning CP505 ATSC stream processor, the multi-featured CP524 transport stream adapter, and the only hybrid IP/ASI seamless switch available for the broadcast market. Now backed by the complete portfolio from T-VIPS, with whom Nevion merged in early 2013, Nevion’s easy-to-deploy broadcast solutions simplify day-to-day operations, reduce costs, and help the world’s leading service providers and broadcasters take advantage of new revenue streams.
Compression solutions
There will be a wide range of compression solutions on show for professional video transport applications, including H.264/MPEG-4 AVCi, MPEG-2 and JPEG 2000.
Managed media services platform
The enhanced, award-winning VideoIPath 3.0 managed media transport platform allows broadcasters, telcos and service providers to gain the full operational benefits and financial advantages of next-generation media networks built upon a mix of IP and optical transport technologies. It supports the complete range of Nevion products including the Video Gateway series for IP transport and nSure monitoring and switching products - a result of Nevion’s merger with T-VIPS. VideoIPath also now supports advanced security features, protecting network resources through authentication, authorization and privacy mechanisms.
Mike Root, Nevion’s SVP sales, Americas, said: “We work to enable our customers to take advantage of the convergence between broadcast, IT and telecom technologies and we’re excited to be showing our full suite of professional media transport and broadcast solutions in New York.”
