Nevion to participate in JPEG 2000 interoperability demonstration at VidTrans 2014
Sandefjord, Norway, February 26, 2014 – Nevion, a leader in transporting media from the camera to the home, will participate in a major JPEG 2000 cross-supplier interoperability demonstration with the Video Services Forum (VSF) at the VidTrans14 Annual Technical Conference and Exposition, February 26-28. The demo will take place in the exhibition area at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, VA throughout the event.
Nevion is one of ten prominent equipment manufacturers and technology suppliers participating in the live public “interop” demonstration, the first ever held for JPEG 2000 in transport streams over IP. The demonstration of JPEG 2000 broadcast profile streams delivered via SMPTE 2022 transport links represents the combined, ongoing standards development efforts of leading technology suppliers, the VSF and SMPTE, including the VSF Technical Recommendations TR1-01 for JPEG 2000 over IP. Nevion is participating in the interoperability demonstration with the Ventura VS902 multi-format contribution codec.
“Nevion is one of the original pioneers of JPEG 2000 compression technology,” said Inge Hillestad, Product Manager, Nevion. “We’ve been at the core of the continuing development of industry standards for many years, and we look forward to this next step and what it means for the industry.”
In addition to exhibits showcasing the latest applications, technologies and products, VidTrans14 features technical sessions on the latest technologies focused on the theme "Content in Motion."
