Launching the second issue of New Magazine – Exploring all things ”Two”
On the 17th of April 2019 New Magazine launches “New Two” which is the magazine’s second issue and thus has the objective of interpreting the theme “Two”. New have explored the theme in a variety of ways through so-called stories with titles such as ”Double Trouble”, ”Stuck with you”, “2 in 1”, ”Two Faced” and ”Copy Cat”. It also manifests itself in the design as the entire magazine is double folded. In addition, two different fonts are used throughout the number. The second issue covers art as well as fashion, photography, poetry, illustration, design, fashion, writing and painting.
New Magazine is a print-based magazine with a perspective on print as something more than ink on a paper. The design of the magazine as an object can only be experienced in the physical world. This is to demonstrate printing as an art form in itself and how it can achieve something that goes beyond the limits of the digital space.
New Magazine Issue New Two will be launched on the 17th of April, 2019 with a release event at the hotel At Six in Stockholm. Grammis– and P3 Gold nominated artist GRANT (Caroline Cederlöf) will perform live with a song exclusively written for the magazine for the first time. The electronic duo Orphan Ann will also perform live as well as DJs.
You can already pre–order your issue through New Magazine’s website newmagazine.co. The magazine will be sold at the release event and afterwards it will be available for sale at selected bookshops in addition to its own online shop.

New Magazine is created and produced by Frida-My Sundqvist and Linnea Mesko. Their work as creative directors includes everything from general concept development to setting individual themes for all stories to be interpreted in the works of the participating creators. Linnea Mesko is also behind the graphic design and Isabelle Brättemark has composed all text. The vision is to be the foremost conceptual magazine that treats all art forms.
Background Except being an independent print magazine with a consistent conceptual focus on art and culture, each issue is standalone and based on a given theme. Both the content and the design of the magazine is thoroughly reflected by the theme in question. In this way, each edition becomes something completely new, hence the magazine’s name. New magazine does not view inspiration as something that is limited to a specific subject, but rather influences various types of artistic expression. Therefore different disciplines from the entire art spectrum are included to interpret the same theme. Likewise, sustainability is at the foundation of new magazine as a publication, hence neither the fashion series nor the magazine as a whole is seasonal.
