Newcross Healthcare Solutions’ Plymouth branch has recently been rated overall as ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ leadership, by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for their Complex Care service.

CQC is the independent regulator of all health and social care in England who registers, monitors and inspects all health and care services on behalf of the government.

Newcross provides high quality, complex care in the home, to clients with a range of complex healthcare needs. From spinal injury, to brain injury; degenerative conditions, to congenital disease, through our nurse-led, tailored approach we provide the support our clients need to manage their condition and maintain the lifestyle they choose.

The report found that staff were well motivated and passionate about making a difference to people’s lives and that quality care and support to meet the needs of each individual client was reflected in the level of work received. Staff used words such as “rewarding, good, great, fulfilling, satisfying, happy” when describing how they felt working for Newcross.

The CQC summarises that drivers of good quality of care is a person-centred service with line-of-sight from all levels of leadership. When asked about Newcross, a client said, “Person-centred, I believe so. Each care package is tailored to the individual client, and amended as the clients’ needs change,” while another commented, “I do feel care is based on best practice.”

CQC commented that staff and the registered manager shared the same vision and values which were embedded in their practice, and found that listening to feedback along with robust auditing supported continual improvement.

Stephen Pattrick, Newcross CEO concluded, “At Newcross, we take pride in offering a truly personalised care and support service, developed to enrich the care receivers’ life and ultimately, helping them to lead the most independent and fulfilling life they can. The continuous delivery of this high quality service is fundamental to us, and has been reflected in this result from the CQC.

“This is a fantastic start to 2016 and highlights exactly what clients can expect from the Newcross standard of care.”

Michelle Damerell, Plymouth Complex Care Manager said, “I am delighted with the rating we have received from CQC.  To be awarded ‘Outstanding’ is fantastic and testament to the whole complex care team in Plymouth.  Our staff are extremely dedicated, passionate and work incredibly hard so they thoroughly deserve this recognition.”
