In presenting the awards, B&ES immediate past president Bruce Bisset took the opportunity to remind his audience that the young people being honoured were key to the process of reform that would shape and transform the sector in the years ahead.

“On their shoulders will fall the front-line responsibility for ensuring, not only that the construction industry of the 21st century remains ‘fit for purpose’ and ’world-class’, but that the collective mind of the sector is ever open to new thinking, new ideas, new concepts and new, better ways of doing what it already does well,” said Mr Bisset.
