Despite the recession, Castle Marinas continues to implement its on-going improvement programme across its portfolio of five inland marinas with Ventnor Farm being the beneficiary of major new investment.

9 August 2010 – Castle Marinas Ltd, unusual for operating both coastal and inland marinas, continues to invest in improvements to its inland marinas, despite the recession. The latest example being construction of a new facilities building at its Ventnor Farm marina on the Grand Union canal, near Rugby, part of a second phase of upgrades to this marina. The facilities building was opened during a celebratory BBQ on Saturday 10th July and its completion was welcomed by the many berth holders present. This development is part of Castle Marinas’ declared strategy to look for growth through acquisition whilst continually improving all eight of its existing marinas. Tony Dye, Operations Manager for Castle Marinas Ltd, comments, “Despite the recession and our extended price freeze on annual berthing rates, we are continuing to undertake upgrades and improvements to all our inland marinas. The new development at Ventnor is evidence that our customers can look forward to more and better facilities to what are already five of the best marinas on the inland waterways”. Castle’s strong commitment to giving value to its customers has taken a major step forward with the recent introduction of flexible berthing contracts. This allows boat owners to split the berthing season between any two of its five inland marinas. Tony Dye continues, “Flexible contracts will allow annual berth holders to choose two of our inland marinas and spend up to six months at each of them. This will give berth holders the opportunity to spend time in two different locations, enjoying a much more varied experience with considerably more scope for waterway cruising”. Castle’s five inland marinas are Kings Bromley in Staffordshire, Ventnor Farm and Wigrams Turn in Warwickshire, Buckden in Cambridgeshire and Nottingham Castle Marina.
