8 July 2013 – Almost £2,000 was raised for charity at the annual dinner & dance attended by regionally based members of the Building & Engineering Services Association (B&ES).  The £1,915 raised will be donated to Diabetes UK, the nominated charity of B&ES president Sue Sharp.

The South Wales Regional Branch of B&ES has 50 member companies most of whom attended their annual dinner & dance, this year held at The Vale Golf Resort Hotel, Hensol, near Cardiff.  Despite the prevailing difficult economic climate the 200 members and guests generously raised this sizeable donation through a raffle and auction of prizes.

Diabetes UK is the primary charity for diabetes care, treatment and research – with 2.9 million people living with the condition in the UK and another seven million people at high risk of developing Type 2 diabetes, with numbers rising dramatically every year, the work of this charity becomes ever more important.

B&ES has over 1,400 member companies across the UK involved in the design, installation and maintenance of building and engineering services, renewable technologies and domestic heating services.
