ESPO re-lists Panztel for Electronic Homecare Monitoring Framework
11 June 2012 – The Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation (ESPO) has again granted Panztel official supplier status for ESPO Contract No 394 – the Electronic Homecare Monitoring Framework. This specific pre-tender qualifying framework agreement runs until 31st March 2015, replacing the first one that commenced in 2008 and has recently expired.
Since May 2010 and the cut-backs that followed, local authorities have placed greater emphasis on electronic proof for the provision of domiciliary care that is now contracted out to independent home care providers. And according to recent estimates about 4 million hours of domestic care are provided in the UK every week, much of this delivered by local authorities using independent home care providers. Panztel are one of the leading providers of electronic homecare monitoring (EHM) systems, a position recognised by ESPO.
Approximately half of all UK local authorities have now adopted some form of EHM, with over 40 now using Panztel’s eziTracker service. This uses the telephone network and data capture technology to provide real time information on the whereabouts of social care workers, enabling management to fully and effectively monitor the remote staff employed by independent home care providers.
